Farmhouse paint (2025)

S. Royalton, VT

Built in the early 19th century, the property has had multiple siding replacements and coats of paint on it. This job required a full scrape, prime, double coat, and needed some clapboards replaced on the south side. The trim and siding were painted in a single color with Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint.

Barn scrape and paint (2026)

S. Royalton, VT

As soon as the weather and nesting of the phoebes allowed, the first project of 2026 was to scrape, prime, and double coat a mid-size barn in a single color. The old paint flakes were initially scraped off using a pressure washer, and then let to dry. A second scraping pass was done by hand scraper to remove as much of the failing paint as possible. The primer was Sherwin-Williams PrimeRx peel bonding primer, which did a fantastic job of preparing the surface for the two brush coats of Sherwin-Williams Duration.

Deck refinish (2026)

Duxbury, VT

Previously coated with a latex stain, the surface of the deck was peeling significantly from sun and rain. In order to remove the old finish, the deck was soaked, power washed, and hand-sanded. This yielded impressive results without the use of solvents. As a final prep, oxalic acid was used to open the pores of the wood. The final treatment was a Benjamin-Moore Woodluxe oil stain, partially visible in the last frame.

Deck stain (2026)

Warren, VT

The scope of work was a single coat of oil stain on untreated, aged wood. It had been previously pressure washed, but needed another good scouring. After letting it dry for a couple days, the deck was spot sanded to remove splinters and a few paint drops. Then it was time for an application of Benjamin-Moore Woodluxe oil stain to protect the wood and add some color.

Home wash (2026)

Duxbury, VT

The vinyl siding of the home had accumulated some mildew and dirt during previous ownership. After moving outdoor furniture and protecting nearby plants, the siding was sprayed with a 1% bleach solution in order to loosen the grime. After that, the siding was pressure washed and hand scrubbed in places to remove persistent stains.

Vinyl door refresh (2026)

Warren, VT

A door had been stained by years of landscaping residue, and we refreshed it with a pressure wash, detergent scrub, bleach treatment, and light abrasive.

Home stain (2026)

Warren, VT

This project entailed staining the 3700 ft2 exterior of a beautiful home in Warren. Originally built in 2012 and stained again in 2017, the home was in need of a new coating. Prep work for the project was extensive, requiring decorations to be taken down, gutters to be removed, windows/trim to be taped, and boards to be scrubbed. The Sherwin-Williams SuperDeck oil stain was applied in a single coat using a sprayer and brush, with a second treatment on weathered boards to ensure an even finish. Despite being recoated with a duller color in 2017, the stain we applied in 2026 closely matches the original from 2012 and compliments the green roof.

Trim and siding (2026)

Montpelier, VT

This home in Montpelier needed caulking and a second coat on the siding. The trim and windows also needed to be scraped, primed, and given a double coat. Painting the siding provided an opportunity to tighten up the lines on the adjacent black trim and make it really pop. A particular success of this project was removing, priming/painting behind, and reinstalling the internet and TV boxes mounted to the wall. They had kept that area from being painted in the previous coat.
